Dr. Juan José Gómez Doblas

Specialist in Cardiology and Family and Community Medicine; Director of the Heart Center at Xanit International Hospital; Director of the Clinical Management Unit of the Heart Center, Head of Clinical Cardiology Section and Head of Clinical Area (Inpatient Care, Consultations and CARE) at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital Cardiology Department in Málaga.

Research Fellow at the Department of Cardiology, Mount Sinai Medical Center, USA; Member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Society of Cardiology’s Research Agency; Member of the Spanish Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs expert committee for the monitoring plan of the Comprehensive Plan for Ischemic Heart Disease (PICI); Tutor for Cardiology Resident Doctors (MIR) at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital; Pfizer Chair Award 2007 for Clinical Management.

Dr. Fernando Cabrera Bueno

PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Málaga, and Specialist in Cardiology; Interim Lecturer in Anatomy at the University of Málaga; Member of and active participant in both the Spanish Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. Dr. Cabrera has worked in the Heart Center in Xanit International Hospital since 2009 and in the Heart Center at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital since 1997, where his academic responsibilities include tutorship of cardiology resident doctors (MIR) and the position of clinical tutor in the Department of Medicine. He coordinates the Marfan Units at Xanit International Hospital and Málaga University Hospital. In research, he holds the role of associate editor of the cardiovascular disease journal Cardiocore and is a reviewer for various medical publications (Revista Española de Cardiología, European Journal of Echocardiography, among others).

Dr. Alberto Barrera Cordero

PhD in Medicine and Specialist in Cardiology. Electrophysiologist in the Arrhythmia Unit at Xanit International Hospital’s Heart Center and in the Arrhythmia Unit of the Cardiology Department at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital in Málaga.

He has extensive experience in electrophysiology and cardiac pacing, including the latest techniques and procedures.

Member of the Spanish and European Societies of Cardiology; in teaching and research, he is the author of numerous scientific articles, presentations and lectures at national and international conferences.

Dr. José María Hernández

PhD in Medicine and Specialist in Cardiology. Coordinator of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Xanit International Hospital’s Heart Center and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit within the Cardiology Department at the Heart Center of Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital in Málaga. His extensive experience in a wide range of interventional procedures also covers less conventional techniques. In recent years, he has earned a stellar national and international reputation in the percutaneous implantation of the aortic prostheses.

In the fields of teaching and research, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Málaga and the author of numerous scientific articles, presentations and lectures at national and international conferences.

Dr. Antonio Muñoz

PhD in Medicine from the University of Málaga and Specialist in Cardiology. Member of and active participant in both the Spanish Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. He works at the Heart Centers at Xanit International Hospital and Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital in their respective Cardiac Catheterization units.

As a researcher, he has contributed to various publications and frequently presents internationally in the field of cardiology, with a principal focus on electrophysiology and arrhythmias.

Dr. Raúl López Salguero

With a degree in medicine from the University of Granada, this Specialist in Cardiology trained under the MIR program at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital in Málaga. Holder of Expert Accreditation from the Andalusian Agency for Healthcare Quality. Member of the European Society of Cardiology and the Spanish Society of Cardiology.

Member of the Spanish Society of Cardiology’s Cardiac Imaging Working Group and of the Andalusian Society of Cardiology, he works professionally as a specialist at Antequera Hospital and as part of the Clinical Cardiology Unit at Xanit International Hospital, where he is responsible for the Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Unit. He has published in specialist journals and taken part in various international clinical trials.

Dr. Amalio Ruiz Salas

Holder of a degree in Medicine and Surgery, and Specialist in Cardiology. Member of and active participant in both the Spanish Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. He works in the Heart Center at Xanit International Hospital and in the Electrophysiology Unit at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital’s Heart Center.

His research includes contributions to various publications in high-impact journals and he makes frequent presentations in the field of cardiology at international conferences, mainly in electrophysiology and arrhythmias. He is known for his expertise in arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathies and channelopathies.

Dr. Ignacio Zabala

Holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Alcalá de Henares. After completing his residency, he specialized in Pediatric Cardiology at Gregorio Marañón Hospital.

He is accredited in Pediatric Cardiology by the Spanish Society of Cardiology and has spent much of his professional career at Gregorio Marañón Hospital. At Xanit, he sees pediatric patients.
